It is an 8x8 2D-DCT/IDCT intended for use in image processing. It is available now for purchase. As well as for new developments, it is intended to offer a replacement for your existing 2D-DCT/IDCT IP, whether originally bought-in or designed in-house, whether stand-alone or part of a larger JPEG/MPEG function. As well as the high throughput it also consumes perhaps only 1/3 of the power. A very significant power reduction in your final product could result.
